About this role:
We are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer with at least 3 years of experience to join our growing team. You will work directly with the founders to build and expand Mage AI’s core platform, the AI-native data operating system. If you thrive on ownership, creativity, and solving complex technical problems that deliver instant user value, this is where you’ll do your best work.
- Salary: $130-180k
- Equity: .15-.45%
- Number of openings: 4
- Remote working PST hours
What will you be doing?
- Build and ship product: own full features from backend logic to front-end polish.
- Architect scalable systems that power data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and AI workflows.
- Collaborate tightly with design and product to translate user needs into high-impact functionality.
- Work across the stack — APIs, databases, React components, cloud deployments, and real-time interfaces.
- Shape developer experience by extending Mage’s internal frameworks, CLI tools, and SDKs.
Ideal Candidates:
- 3+ years of experience in full-stack, frontend, or backend engineering
- At least 2 years of SWE experience at one company
- Professional experience with JavaScript
- Experience with Python (nice to have)

- Frequent job hopping (e.g. multiple roles under 1 year)
Interview Process:
- Intro call with Cofounder - Tommy
- Technical with CTO - not live coding, we give you a really short, sort of easy thing to do (write code) and it's a ticket or something from our open source, do it however you want, and then talk through with us 45 minutes live from there - you can use AI, tools, etc. just need to explain it live to the team
- Culture fit - talk about their background, experience, looking for, behavioral type questions
