Engineering Manager

They are seeking an Engineering Manager who combines strong technical leadership with a passion for developing people. This individual will lead a team responsible for building business-critical systems that support financial operations, workflow automation, data visibility, and transaction processing.
This role requires close collaboration with Product, Design, Data, Operations, and other Engineering leaders to deliver reliable, scalable, and intelligent solutions that improve customer outcomes.
What You'll Do
Lead Delivery and Execution
- Drive predictable, high-quality software delivery using modern engineering practices and AI-enabled development workflows.
- Establish and maintain a strong operating cadence through team meetings, 1:1s, planning sessions, reviews, and stakeholder updates.
- Ensure alignment across teams while maintaining focus on business outcomes and execution.
Partner on Product Strategy
- Act as a true partner to Product leadership in roadmap planning and prioritization.
- Provide engineering insight on tradeoffs, technical feasibility, and delivery risks.
- Help shape product direction while balancing customer needs, technical complexity, and business goals.
Bring Structure to Ambiguity
- Translate complex business challenges into actionable plans.
- Prioritize effectively and help teams navigate uncertainty.
- Drive alignment and maintain momentum across multiple initiatives.
Guide Technical Direction
- Partner with senior engineers on architecture, system design, and technical strategy.
- Establish engineering standards that enable speed, quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Support the evolution of systems involving integrations, reporting, automation, and transaction-based workflows.
Develop and Grow the Team
- Lead hiring efforts and build a high-performing engineering organization.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Create clear growth paths for engineers and proactively address performance concerns.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- 4+ years of experience leading product-focused engineering teams.
- Strong technical foundation with the ability to evaluate architecture, system design, and engineering talent.
- Experience leading teams that effectively leverage AI-assisted software development workflows.
- Experience implementing processes that safely and effectively incorporate AI-generated outputs into engineering teams.
- Experience building, delivering, or supporting AI-powered products, machine learning solutions, or intelligent user-facing features.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills with Product, Design, Data, and Operations teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to drive execution while maintaining a high standard for quality.
- Experience operating in environments where reliability, accuracy, and trust are critical.
- Demonstrated ability to make thoughtful tradeoffs and document decision-making processes.
- Passion for mentoring engineers and building strong team cultures.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience in fintech, payments, accounting platforms, financial systems, or other highly regulated operational environments.
- Experience with transaction processing, billing, payments, reconciliations, financial reporting, or ledger-based systems.
- Experience building integrations between multiple business-critical platforms.
- Experience leading teams through major platform modernizations, re-architectures, or significant scaling efforts.
- Experience in complex B2B software environments.
